Yesterday, April 25th 2024 was declared Alzheimer’s and Related Dementia Awareness Day by Governor Jeff Landry. The State Capitol was lit purple last night in honor of the newly proclaimed day and in support of our Advocacy Day at the Capitol. It was a pleasure being with the Alzheimer’s advocacy team at the State Capital meeting with Louisiana State Representative/Chair of the House Health & Welfare Committee, Dustin Miller, to advocate for Alzheimer’s Disease! Advocates joined together at the Louisiana State Capitol to rally around Alzheimer’s & dementia & ask our representatives to support SB 46! We got to hear from Secretary of Health, Representative Abraham, on the importance of advocate voices! I was also able to share the ongoing Alzheimer’s research happening in the state of Louisiana as well as talk about my own reaearch. #endalz #louisiana #endalzlouisiana
