Students help work the graduate student booth and engage with prospective students. We also always have the best swag to give away. This was my first time at SfN and in California! I got to present not just one poster, but two :)

One cool thing Tulane has started during my second year in the program is this "Second-year PhD students Society for Neuroscience Experience" This initiative has a twofold goal, first, introducing our second-year students to a large meeting experience and second, increasing the visibility of the Tulane Brain Institute Neuroscience PhD and MS Programs. The initiative is only for second-year students in the Neuroscience PhD Program. This is fully funded by both the program and your main PI.
